The world famous “Golden Thread Red Date” is cultivated and grown with a very long history in Cang Zhou city, Hebei province, and is centred on Cui Er Village area. The Golden Thread Red Date” is mature in Chinese Mid-Moon Festival period, which is around the end of September or the beginning of October. The Golden Thread Red Date” has bright red skin, small stone, aromatic smell and sweet taste. Cui Er Village is the hometown of Ji Xiaolan(1724-1805), a very high-ranking official in the Ministry of Rites as well as an outstanding scholar in early Qing Dynasty. He was appointed by Emperor Qian Long (1736-1795 as Emperor) to oversee the collection and editing of the "Si-ku-quan-shu ", the great imperial collection of 3,500 volumes of Chinese classics, belles-lettres, philosophy and history and it is also regarded as the biggest literary project in the history of China.
